Religion Or Comfort
Is it craving comfort by worshipping idols, or is it being fanatical about one's religion come what may, is it for pleasures which we crave, or is it really to attain salvation? Well, most of us are selfish in our own ways. To be frank no one is a sadhu santh who would worship for the well being of the entire human race, be frank guys. Each one first looks after his/her family and then the thought reaches toward the rest of the population. This very fact itself is enough to state that humans are embodiments of selfishness, lust, and cruelty. No denying the fact please. The next thought that comes to my mind is whether it is religion first or comfort. How many of us are really adhering to the traditions and customs that have been in the forefront for ages? Hardly a few. This gives rise to the debatable point that whether westernisation can be adopted in a world where everything has been westernised. The controversies that surround this fact are the disputes that take place between the 'STRINGENT' followers of religion and the public on the issues of celebration that has its roots in the Ancient Greece, " The Velentines Day". The moment this day arrives, the VHP guys are on the prowl to shut down the shops which encourage such type of celebrations. To an extent it might sound good to all those netas, but does it in anyway help people? Has it been mentioned anywhere in the mythological stories that 'Love' between two souls is not an integral part of religion, and that expressing love is not in the ethical codes of this religion? I guess not. The reason might be that these guys want to reduce the number of people who are having scant respect for the religion, and this is in fact a fact. We Hindus by nature are kind hearted people who are a bit volatile when it comes to Religious issues. But destruction of people's stand on certain aspects could not only turn people against these activists but also deviate them from the righteous path. Let people enjoy to a certain extent. Adopting principles from alien societies that do no harm to the society will not have any seriously ill effects

i find contradiction in your own views.and what has comfort gotta do with religion? is it not more belief and the will to survive in the name of religion? When you mean life it means 'yourself' first,then your kin.Is it not obvious for a blood relation.I don't think a question has to be raised in this issue.Even a soldier who has vowed to fight for his own country is made to act so.This is not selfishness.Can we deny the fact that everyday scores of people die for various reasons?Lust is obsession kinds.IF there is lust you are forced to do something.Westernisation is very vague term simply for the fact that people get influenced and find it comfortable.Here comes comfort!Ok if the VHPs are angered by the greek god then point the finger.We do have the kamasutra and depiction of love don't we.How many of us have understood that first!And you also say this curbs the freedom.You are taking a stand,for the fact that if tradition is followed everything is bliss.If we actually respected people's genuine reasons behind his/her own comfort then 'stringent' rules wouldn't even come to existence!

Well buddy, traditions and customs have been moulded acording to our own ways. These are not the actual age old customs we are following. It is all comfort that is ruling the roost. THe Valentines Day which i've mentioned is only an example i've given for westernisation. It does play a major role in every domain of our lives and when people are accepting them without any qualms, then why don't you accept the festivals which have made their way to this country. The tradition of trousers has come from western world, and the language which we are using in this blogs has come from western world. And one more, I mentioned a few traits of human beings common to everyone without singling out any one. But soldiers do fight for the country.. It is country that comes first for them. The first few lines are enough to say that we crave comfort. We see god as the one who fulfills our wishes. We worship god so that he would grant us all luxuries in life. There ends the matter. The next few lines depict the way these luxuries have changed the way we think when we deal with actual traidtions. Of course there is too much to say and the space is not enough...
And one more thing how many of us visit a temple daily when compared to other religions. Do you. i don't. And many would not. Why are we not? Just for the sake that we feel that it is a burden or many constraints which sont let us do so. Adopting westernisation doesn't mean that you are going out of your religion. These things need to be understood. There is a guilty feeling in each one of us that hinduism is not a strong religion. Accept this fact. no comments on this one. Well the blog states that comfort levels have changed the way we live, but the last lines mention that there's nothing wrong to a certain extent....
i'm not here to accept facts just cos someone does! and trousers are for the body how does it matter who brought it here.We accept festivals cos they have a histroy,a reminder of what happened in the past and a reason to celebrate.Do we always sit and sulk! Why has luxury and comfort so much a matter now.Don't tell me a normal human being likes being in trouble always!
